Short shorts, tank tops, and bathing suits are probably the last thing on every woman’s mind right now, especially with all of the ice, snow, and negative temperatures we’ve been experiencing in Ohio lately. While it doesn’t seem like it now, summer IS coming and is less than 5 months away, so that makes now the perfect time to start getting in shape in preparation for bathing suit season.
Deciding to get fit is a big commitment and staying fit is even more challenging, especially for those of us with jobs, families, and social lives that keep us busy. Picking out a gym or fitness center is the easy part, right? Wrong!
I admittedly don’t know my way around a gym, having no clue how any of the machines work, how much weight I should be attempting, or how many repetitions I should be doing. Not to mention how to make sure I am getting a well-rounded workout…I need help!
One of the best ways to ensure you are on the right path to reaching your fitness goals is to think LOCAL. Larger “big name” gyms might seem convenient but there are so many benefits to smaller locally owned gyms and fitness centers that you should consider. Smaller gyms have less members which means that you will receive a more personal experience, more assistance from staff, and more time with equipment, and locally owned gyms are almost always more affordable, the larger chain gyms often have enrollment fees and high cancellation fees in addition to their monthly membership rates.
