Capturing Stunning Product Photography Your Audience Won’t Forget

You have a great product and are ready to start marketing it to your customers. Having great images of your product is necessary to get the best engagement in hopes that your product is a must-have!

It is important to be mindful of all aspects of your product image. Think about the most recent purchase you made online…

What did you like most about the product image?
Was there a good amount of white space so you focused right in on the product?
Did the photographer have great use of colors?
Did you see anything in the background that did not correlate to the product?

Our Beachwood Photographer, Zoe recommends considering the following when creating your product photography:

Photographs and visuals are key to attracting consumers and an audience that cares about your brand.

  1. We are visual creatures so aesthetic photographs hook us and stop us in our tracts. The goal is to capture not just pretty pictures that are thrown away images – but photographs that communicate exactly what your story is and match your brand.
  2. Make sure you set up an environment in the studio or out of the studio. Get creative with the props you use and make sure there is enough to set your product in a scene but not too much where your product gets lost. Props are there for support not to steal the show away!
  3. Can someone place another product in your images and is it noticeable? Or is your photography unique to your brand where the props and colors support it?
  4. Use bold colors or colors that go against even what your brand colors are. If you choose to have a similar scene for multiple products, try changing out a couple aspects like background or stage colors.

Put yourself in the consumer’s shoes; even if you were not in the market for that product, would you be tempted to purchase it? Consider what your competitors are doing with their product photography and determine if you could benefit from methods like theirs.

Do not let your product photography be an afterthought! You have likely put a lot of time and energy into your product so be sure that your product photography looks professional and reflects the hard work you have put into your business.
